Loading the Set into the Alaris® Pump module
4. Ensure that the tubing is not twisted and insert the safety clamp*
on the pumping mechanism into the lower recess, with the arrow pointing
into the Alaris® Pump
module. (Remember, you do not have to manually close the safety clamp
on the pumping mechanism.)
5. Using your fingertip, firmly push the tubing toward the back of the
Air-in-Line Detector.
6. While grasping the Alaris® Pump module housing, gently close
the door and then lower the latch. Open the roller clamp and verify
that no fluid is flowing through the
drip
chamber.
WARNING: Ensure that there are no foreign objects (IV
tubing, etc.) obstructing the door. Do not touch the set tubing or
upper fitment while closing the door. Failure to follow
this instruction may result
in infusion rate inaccuracy.
